Sania Mirza’s American teammate in the first round of the Dubai Championship participated in the doubles event with the Russian duo defeated them in straight sets by six fours and six zeros. With this defeat Sania Mirza’s 20-year tennis career ended, the 36-year-old tennis star started professional tennis in 2003 and won 6 Grand Slam trophies. Sania Mirza won three women’s doubles Grand Slam titles from Martina Hingz of Switzerland Won together and won three mixed doubles Grand Slam titles, including two with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi. The Indian tennis star played her last Grand Slam Australian Open in Melbourne last month, losing to Sania Mirza in the final alongside Rohan Bopanna.
